Almost nothing. Hengarth provides everything you need to sleep, eat, and relax: hotel linens, blankets, pillows, towels, cookware, utensils, a grill, a camping stove, a cooler with drinking water, and coffee. Bring your own food for grilling and any personal toiletries. Sturdy footwear (boots or trail shoes) is recommended if you plan to explore the woodland trails or join in with farm chores. A personal flashlight is useful in the evenings.

Each bell tent is fully furnished for comfort and convenience. Inside you'll find a queen bed with hotel-quality linens, additional blankets, a table and chairs, solar-powered lighting, a device charging station, and a dining cart stocked with pots, pans, and utensils — plus a cooler pre-filled with drinking water. Outside each tent is a private seating area with a picnic table, prep table, charcoal grill, camping stove, and a fire pit with wood and charcoal included. Two of the four tents are stargazer bell tents with 360-degree transparent roofs and all have10ft+ center height.

Each tent has its own private off-grid bathroom, dedicated exclusively to that tent's guests — no shared facilities with other tents. The bathrooms include a composting toilet (odorless, easy to use), a fresh-water hand pump station, and a private outdoor hot shower with a solar pump. They are clean, well-maintained, and consistently rated as a highlight by guests. Because Hengarth is an off-grid farm property, bathrooms are not ensuite to the tent, but they are private, close by, and thoughtfully appointed. Most guests are pleasantly surprised.

Designated parking is located at the barn at the base of the property. From there, it's a five-minute walk up the hill to the glamping meadow — a genuinely beautiful stroll, and one that keeps the upper meadow peaceful and car-free for guests. Luggage transport up the hill can be arranged, or guests may drive up briefly to unload before returning the car to the parking area. The walkway is well-lit in the evening. We do allow a small number of guests to park in the meadow, and accessible parkingis available.

Hengarth Farm is located in Prattsville, Greene County, in the Catskill Mountains of New York — approximately 2.5 hours by car from New York City, depending on traffic and the day of travel. Friday afternoon travel tends to run closer to 3 hours. The nearest Amtrak station is Hudson, NY, which is served by direct trains from Penn Station; guests arriving by train would need to arrange onward transport (car hire services are available in Hudson). The majority of Hengarth guests travel by car from NYC and the broader Northeast.

Hengarth accommodates up to 20 guests across four bell tents for group bookings. Each tent sleeps 2–5: a queen bed is standard, and up to three additional single cots can be added per tent. The cots are comfortable for adults as well as children. A travel cot for infants and toddlers is available to rent. If your group exceeds 20 guests or requires more sleeping capacity than the tents provide, contact Hengarth directly — a small number of additional camping spots can be arranged for overflow guests, or we have a trusted partner to expand tent numbers for larger groups/events.
